WT JShopping SW JProjects

WT JShopping SW JProjects is meant for sites that sell digital products such as Joomla extensions, scripts or software through JoomShopping and deliver files and updates with the SW JProjects component. The plugin generates keys for SW JProjects projects automatically at the JoomShopping checkout finish step and displays the key in the customer's account when they view the order. A product is linked to a project through a product characteristic that holds the project ID (project_id).

Features

Installation and setup

1. Install the SW JProjects component and the plugin package through the Joomla Extension Manager.
2. In JoomShopping, create a product characteristic for the SW JProjects project ID (project_id). Do this before you start using the plugin.
3. For each product that sells access to a digital project, enter the ID of the matching project in that characteristic.
4. In the plugin settings, select the created characteristic in the "JoomShopping characteristic's Id for SW Projects project id" parameter.

What SW JProjects provides

SW JProjects is a Joomla component for a catalogue of digital projects: software, files, scripts, extensions and modules. The keys generated by the plugin belong to the component's key manager. The main features of SW JProjects:

• Paid downloads. When a project's download type is set to Paid, the file can only be downloaded with a key. Keys are handled by the component's key manager.
• Versions. Each project version has a stability level (Development, Alpha, Beta, Release Candidate, Stable) and a changelog.
• Statistics. Downloads are counted for every version.
• File storage. Files can be stored outside the site root, so they cannot be downloaded through a direct link that bypasses the component.
• Update server. An update server can be enabled for each Joomla extension, so customers receive updates the standard Joomla way. The default data schema is Joomla CMS; for other applications, such as WordPress plugins, a custom schema plugin can be written.

Compatibility and requirements

• Joomla 4 and 5.
• JoomShopping online store (the plugin is tested with JoomShopping 5.5.0 and Joomla 5.1.2).
• SW JProjects component, installed separately.
