Integrates NorrCompetition with AltaUserPoints and AlphaUserPoints: users earn or spend points for voting, submitting entries and viewing contests and entries.
This package connects the NorrCompetition contest component with the AltaUserPoints and AlphaUserPoints (AUP) point systems. User actions in contests — voting, submitting entries, viewing — become AUP events that award or deduct points. Rules are configured in AUP to suit a particular site, and the rest of the point system is available on top of that: rewards, restrictions and so on.
The developer marks this plugin as legacy: NorrCompetition 3.0 and later for Joomla 5 and above has a built-in points system, and this plugin is meant for sites that already use AltaUserPoints.
Monetising contests
AUP rules can turn voting into a paid action: for example, set a "−1 point per vote" rule and restrict the action. Users then have to buy points in AUP before they can vote.
