A content plugin that places one or more Google maps in an article by address or coordinates using the {google_map} tag. Map type, zoom, size, language and border are adjustable.
Embed Google Map is a content plugin by Petteri Kivimäki for placing Google maps right in the article text. It is handy for contact pages, event announcements and property descriptions where a full map component would be overkill. The source code is on GitHub.
Features
- A map is added with {google_map}address{/google_map}; latitude and longitude in decimal degrees work instead of an address. Several maps per article are allowed.
- Three service options: Google Maps and Google Maps Classic without a key, and the Google Maps Embed API with a key.
- Parameters inside the tag: map type (normal, satellite, hybrid, terrain), zoom, width and height, border width, style and colour, and the iframe title attribute.
- Map interface language, including the current site language, and translatable strings for labels.
- A link to the full-size map and an info label for the location.
- Deferred loading after the rest of the page and an option to turn off mouse wheel zoom.
- Backend translated into English, French, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese and Finnish.
