A plugin that manages rel="canonical" and next/prev hints in the page head and HTTP headers, removes duplicates caused by URL parameters and shields Smart Search pages from spam.
Crusco Canonical URL is a plugin from the Italian studio HTML Crusco that fights duplicate pages in Joomla. It sets a canonical address for every page in line with the SEF settings and is useful on any site, especially a multilingual one or one served from several domains.
Features
- Automatic rel="canonical" with manual overrides, plus rel="next" and rel="prev" for paginated lists, written to the head and to HTTP headers (RFC 6596 and RFC 8288).
- Multi-domain setups: a primary domain and localised canonical domains, also used in alternate-language tags.
- Consistent trailing slash handling and removal of needless query strings from SEF URLs.
- Optional redirect to the canonical URL with a 301 or the default 303 status.
- A spam query filter and allow/exclude lists for Smart Search result pages.
- Removal of canonical tags added by other extensions, two options for multi-page articles, experimental support for unlisted components.
