An authentication plugin that lets users sign in using an email address plus password instead of a username. Runs next to the standard Joomla login or replaces it completely.
Authentication - EMail by Michael Richey addresses a common issue on sites with user accounts: people remember their email address but forget their Joomla username, then open support tickets or give up on logging in. The plugin looks up the account by the address entered and signs the user in exactly as a username would. The login form, the template and the database stay as they are.

- Two modes: alongside the core Authentication - Joomla plugin, so either a username or an email works, or email only once the core plugin is disabled.
- No settings screen: install the plugin and enable it.
- Combined with System - No Usernames by the same author, the username field can be dropped from registration and profiles, so usernames disappear from the site entirely.
Compatibility
