# Cookie consent and GDPR

Cookie consent extensions show visitors a notice and ask permission to use cookies, as GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive require. They are needed on Joomla sites that use analytics, advertising or external widgets.

CookieHint offers consent by category or single cookie, supports Google Consent Mode v2 and blocks external iframes. Cookies CK blocks cookies until the visitor accepts, finds them with a scanner and keeps a consent log exportable to CSV. EU e-Privacy Directive shows a notice with Accept and Decline buttons and a link to revisit the choice, and JoomBall Cookies is a notice module with preference selection and multilingual support.
