RSGallery2 is one of the oldest gallery components for Joomla: the project started in 2003 for Mambo, and the backend was completely rewritten in 2016. It is now maintained by the RSGallery2 team (listed in JED as whazzup). The component targets anyone who needs to upload many photos quickly and show them simply.

Compatibility
Joomla 5 and 6 (JED flags 6.1). Current version 5.3.2, last updated in JED on 18 August 2026. The authors stress that the extension has always been free and will stay free. The JED text is partly outdated (it mentions Joomla 3 and PHP 7), so current requirements are best checked in the GitHub releases.
