A plugin that connects a VirtueMart store to the Emailtools.ru triggered email service: abandoned cart, abandoned payment, viewed products, reviews and surveys.
Emailtools for VirtueMart integrates a VirtueMart online store with Emailtools.ru, a triggered email marketing service. Triggered emails help to recover unfinished orders, raise the average order value and bring repeat sales. The emails show the categories and products a particular visitor viewed or added to the cart: name, image, description, price and product link. The service takes product data from a feed in YML format.

Service features
- The service recognises visitors who have ever left an email address in any form on the site, without asking them to register or log in again.
- Trigger management in the account: pause and start campaigns, replace the email for any trigger.
- Free email templates.
- Overall and detailed statistics on collected contacts, visitor behaviour and each campaign.
- Links in emails are tagged with UTM parameters automatically.
- Extras: "site character" pop-ups and email sequences (welcome series).
Installation and setup
- Register with Emailtools.ru and enter the site domain without the protocol or www (for example,
example.com). - Copy the API KEY from your account.
- Install the plugin in Joomla via Extensions → Manage → Install.
- Open Extensions → Plugins, find the "Vmcustom - Emailtools for Virtuemart" plugin, enable it, paste the API KEY into the field labelled "Введите ID" (Enter ID), tick the Terms and conditions checkbox (without it the plugin does not connect the service to the site), make sure logging is enabled, and save.
- In the Emailtools.ru account, upload the trigger emails and configure the mechanics.
The plugin log is written to emtlogs.txt in the plugins/vmcustom/emailtools/logs/ folder.
Terms of use
New accounts receive 200 free emails. After that, Emailtools.ru works on paid monthly plans; current terms are published on the service website.
