A lightweight lightbox plugin that opens images, YouTube and Vimeo video, PDF files and HTML content in a pop-up window. Written in plain JavaScript with no third-party libraries.
boxplus is a plugin by Levente Hunyadi that shows the target of a link in a pop-up window over the page, commonly called a lightbox. It suits galleries, portfolios and articles where a picture or a clip is better viewed without leaving the page.
Features
- The pop-up window displays images, YouTube and Vimeo video, PDF files and arbitrary HTML.
- The plugin wraps the boxplusx client-side script, written in plain JavaScript, so the overhead is small and clashes with jQuery or other libraries are not expected.
- Activation through the rel attribute: any link whose rel value starts with boxplus opens in the plugin window.
- As an alternative, a special tag in the article text is converted into a link with the given caption.
